Free Classified Ads?
Free? What's The Catch?
- No catch. It's really free. We're supported by ads and our hope is that you like our site so much that you purchase a Featured Ad :)
Housing Ad Rules
What is housing discrimination?
- It is illegal to advertise or make any statement that indicates a limitation or preference based on race, color, national origin, religion, sex, familial status, or handicap. This prohibition against discriminatory advertising applies to single-family and owner-occupied housing that is otherwise exempt from the Fair Housing Act.
- Please visit Section 3604(c) of the Federal Fair Housing Act to make sure your housing ad complies.
How do I report a housing ad for discrimination?
- You may click the "Report Abuse" link at the top of the ad.
- You may also report housing discrimination to HUD at 1-800-669-9777 or to your local fair housing advocate.

How do I edit or delete my ad?
- All ads are edited by clicking the link in the email that was sent to you (the one with "SAVE THIS EMAIL" at the top).
- If you delete the email, then you'll have to wait the time period that the ad is running for the system to delete it automatically.
I never received a verification email. Where is it?
- Check your email program or filter to make sure it wasn't moved to a bulk or trash folder. Please add billing@ncsoup.com to your allowed emails.
- Although most report immediate receipt of our verification email, your internet service provider may be experiencing delays so a bit of patience might be needed while they fix the problem.
How often can I post the same ad?
- For free ads, you may post only twice within the given time period on the site. You may post as many Featured Ads as you want.
How does the Contact Form work?
- When placing your ad, you have two options. The first is to display a contact form so people can contact you about your ad (we provide this option so your email is not displayed to viewers). The second is to NOT display a contact form and users will have no way of contacting you at all, unless you put your contact info within your ad (we use this option for those who don't or can't use email and will provide a phone number or some other method of contact).
What Is A Featured Ad?
What Is A Featured Ad?
A Featured Ad Gives You The Following:
- Your Featured Ad always appears ABOVE any free ad.
- Your Featured Ad is highlighted to stand out even more.
- Your Featured Ad removes the "Report Abuse" option so competitors can't try and get your classified ad removed (I'm still disappointed that people would actually do this :(
Abuse
How are ads reported for violating the terms of use?
Ads are "policed" by the community via a "Report Abuse" link on all free ads (Featured Ads do not have this). If you feel an ad violates our Terms of Use, you can report it by clicking the "Report Abuse" link at the top of the post. When enough people report the ad, the ad will be removed from the site.
Who Are You?
Who Are You?
- I lived the first 31 years of my life in NC and then I moved to Seattle, WA where I've lived for about 11 years. I'm saving up to buy a second home back in NC for my retirement. I sure have missed the South and can't wait to get back!
Why did you create this site?
- I was using some other list site and, although I loved the concept, I disliked that so many people were being ignored. I was also frustrated at its lack of features so I created my own free classifieds site and made it the way I wanted it to be. I wanted to make sure that all of NC was represented and not just the few larger cities. Accordingly, I wanted to provide an option for people to be able to have their ads appear at the top (Featured Ad) of all the free ads but only charge a very small fee (times are rough, ya know?).
